明けましておめでとうございます。A Happy New Year to everyone!
ozoni- a soup containing mochi (rice cake), eaten on New Year’s. additional ingredients vary depending on prefecture or family traditions. ours consists of: kombu (seaweed) and soy-sauce based broth, mochi, mizuna (a type of field greens), chicken, sliced shiitake mushrooms, fu (spongy wheat cakes) cut in the shape of flowers, and carrots cut in the shape of flowers.
